FAQ
Adjudicators play a critical role in reviewing applications and contributing to the decision-making process for a recipient of the Mytech Partners technology grant. If you or your organization is sponsoring a grant, you’ll also choose a winner for that specific award. Additionally, you may be asked to provide further context or insight about applicant nonprofits—especially when important details may not have been fully captured in their applications. Your input helps ensure a well-informed and community-focused selection process.
You will be required to read all applications, which can take upwards of 3-4 hours, and use the scoring guidelines we provide to choose the top 3 applicants who you think are best suited for the Mytech technology grant. If you or your organization has provided a grant, you will spend additional time selecting a winner for that grant. You are welcome to ask others for advice to help you make the best selection for your grant. This will likely require time after regular business hours and over the weekend.
There are 2 adjudication sessions: a half-day (4 hours) in-person where winners will be discussed and narrowed down then a 90-minute session later in the week where any last questions about the top candidates can be brought to the group to solidify the decisions.
We ask that you help promote the grant using any channels available to you. This can include sharing information on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, sending updates through your email newsletters, mentioning the grant at community events, or simply spreading the word in one-on-one conversations. The more visibility we create, the more nonprofits we can reach—and the greater impact we can have. Your efforts play a key role in the success of the grant, so we encourage you to use every opportunity to help amplify the message.
Adjudicators are expected to attend the award ceremony and personally present their grant to the selected nonprofit. Before leaving the event, adjudicators should make direct contact with their grant recipient to offer congratulations and establish a connection. Since the ceremony is open to the community, adjudicators are also encouraged to share their experience by posting about the event on social media or other platforms. Your presence and engagement help celebrate the work of these nonprofits and extend the impact of the grant within the broader community.
